Bread Cheese Balls

INGREDIENTS:

·         2 Potatoes (Boiled & Mashed)

·         1 Chilli (Finely chopped)

·         ½ tsp. ginger paste

·         2 tbsp. coriander (Finely Chopped)

·         ¼ tsps. pepper (crushed)

·         1 tsp. mixed herbs

·         ¼ cumin powder/jeera powder

·         ½ tsps. salt

·         2 slice bread (white/brown)

·         10 cubes cheese (cheddar/mozzarella)

·         1 cup of corn flakes (crushed)

 

FOR CORN FLOUR BATTER:

·         2 tbsp. cornflour

·         2 tbsp. Maida / plain flour

·         ¼ tsps. pepper (crushed)

·         ¼ tsps. salt

·         ¼ cup of water

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Firstly, in a large mixing bowl takes 2 potatoes. Make sure boil potato and mash them smooth.

 

2. Also add 1 chili, ½ tsps. Ginger paste, 2 tbsp. coriander, ¼ tsps. Pepper, 1 tsp. Mixed herbs, ¼ cumin powder, and ½ tsps. salt.

 

 

3.     Additionally, tear 2 bread slices. Trim off the sides to avoid any lumps. You can alternatively use breadcrumbs.

 

4. Mix and mash well combining all the spices together.

 

5. Also, add more slices of bread if the dough is still moist. Adding bread prevents cheese balls from breaking.

 

6.     Make a soft non-sticky dough. Keep aside.

 

7. Now in a small bowl take 2 tbsp. corn flour, 2 tbsp. Maida, and ¼ tsps. Pepper and ¼ tsps. salt.

 

8. Add ¼ cup water and make a smooth lump-free batter.

 

9. Now pinch a ball sized aloo mixture and flatten slightly.

 

 

10. Place cubed sized cheese in the center. Use cheddar cheese or any cheese of your choice.

 

11. Get the edges together and stuff the cheese well.

 

12. Form a smooth ball, making sure there are no cracks. Else there are chances for the cheese to ooze out.

 

13. Now dip into corn flour batter and coat well.

 

14. Further, roll in crushed cornflakes or breadcrumbs covering uniformly. You can freeze in a zip lock bag for a month or more and fry/bake as required.

 

15. Fry in hot oil or bake in a preheated oven at 180-degree calicos for 15-18 minutes.

 

16. Stir occasionally without breaking the cheese balls.

 

17. Fry until bread cheese balls turn golden brown and crisp, drain off the balls over kitchen paper absorbing excess oil &  & finally, enjoy bread cheese balls with Tomato sauce.
